When

"When" is a word which is full of life, soaked in life, with all the stuff of life.
"When" cannot be said without taking us somewhere, perhaps a place to which we have not yet traveled, perhaps a place to which we'd rather not go.
"When" assumes something transcendent of time, it assumes a happening, an encounter, an experience.
"When" holds within its palms the past, the present, and the future. It carries our shame, our joy, our insecurity and our confidence, our hopes and our fears.
"When" was and is and is to come.
"When" has become flesh and dwells among us, guiding us and comforting us.
God, our creator, who transcends time, dwells in the "when" of life.

"I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you. When you pass through the rivers they'll not sweep over you. When you walk though the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze." Isaiah 43:1-2
