Ironically, I found this quote on the back of a book about evangelism called
Principals of War... it would make more sense to print it on the back of a book about non-violent resistance:

Jesus Christ founded His empire upon love; and at this hour millions of men would die for Him." _Napoleon Bonaparte
It's ironic that even Napoleon, though he represents so much that the Kingdom of God is not, gets it where so many American Christians have missed the point altogether. The Kingdom of God is quite different than the kingdom of the world. Where the world's kingdoms use bombs and bullets, the followers of Jesus arm themselves only with the sword of the Spirit. Where force becomes a necessity for the kingdoms of the world, love is the only necessity in God's Kingdom.
"For though we live in the world we are not carrying on a worldly war, for the weapons of our warfare are not worldly but have divine power to destroy strongholds." _2 Corinthians 10:3-4
May our only hope and our only allegiance remain only in you oh LORD of the armies, the one who fights on our behalf, dies for and with us to bring down the powers and principalities of death which still suffer from denial of their defeat, and who lifts us up together in the sharing of son and daughtership in your body and blood. Amen.
