Into the Light: the Problem of Evil

Sometimes we ask questions about evil, about how a good God could exist in such an evil world. We raise the question, "since the world is so evil, how could God be good?" What if we raised our heads above the storm every once in a while, out of the ocean of darkness and into the infinite ocean of light and love, and asked "since God is so good, how can we allow evil to persist... in our world... in us?" Begin asking that question, "how could we let things continue like this", and you may find yourself on the path to peace. You may raise yourself out of the darkness and into the light and find yourself walking in the light.

I have come to believe that theodicy is much less an abstract question than it is a question of action--it is something to be dealt with bodily. As you move in the light and act against the principalities and powers of darkness it becomes much more difficult to ask, "how can a good God exist in such an evil world?" you'll find yourself consumed in the midst of the God of goodness and light.
