Going to First Congregational

Today in the mail I received the official job offer of Director of Youth Ministry at First Congregational Church of Ramona, the church in which I was raised and to which I feel most connected. I have been looking forward to officializing this thing, as I have been anticipating working there for quite a while now. I guess I always had a feeling I would end up going back to our little church and I am extremely excited to actually begin teaching and building relationships with the students and giving myself to this church. As of August 1st, I will be the Youth Director. This is an important transition in my life as well as in the life of our church. This is a year of new beginnings for me and my church, as our Pastor who has been there all my life is leaving and I am entering in. It is truly bitter-sweet, I'm sure, for all of us and through this we will grow closer together we will share in the bitter-sweetness together.

It's bitter-sweet indeed--saying goodbye to one place to which I have grown so attached (see the previous post) and saying hello to another place about which I am very excited. I suppose I will feel this more and more in the coming weeks as I try to cope with the reality of being graduated and moving on to another phase of life. I can do nothing if I cannot hope that, in all this, God is near and God is breathing.
