I received this message today:

UNICEF has launched a campaign called Spread the Net. Their slogan:
"1 Net. 10 Bucks. Save Lives." So you buy a mosquito net for $10 and it gets sent for free to a family in Africa. The goal is to get 500,000 nets; currently 65,000 have been purchased. I have seen how effective and essential these nets are, and I think this is an amazing program.
A few stats:
Every 30 seconds a child dies of malaria. (That is WAY more than AIDS.)
That's 3,000 a day, over 1,000,000 each year.
In Africa, malaria is the largest cause of death in children under five.
IT'S PREVENTABLE. Bednets help.
On top of all this, UNICEF has chosen two African countries that have rocked and wrecked me (in a good way;) and ultimately stollen my heart - Liberia and Rwanda!
So, please know that this makes a huge difference and it is our privelege to be able to invest in sth so much BIGGER than ourselves!!! To practice a love that speaks and acts;)
